In the summer in Jiangcheng, taxi driver Wu Tao (Eric Tsang) accidentally fell into the river and died. In addition to the posthumous child in her belly and the son Xiaochuan (Tan Jianci) who graduated from high school, his wife Fanli (Jiang Wenli) left an injured female passenger Sudan (Mo Wenwei). Fanli could not afford the high hospitalization fees, so she had to take Sudan home to take care of her personally. The death of the man filled the family with a sad atmosphere, and the arrival of the prostitute Sudan brought a glimmer of life to the family. Xiaochuan began to mature from a confused teenager, and Fanli gradually got rid of the pain of losing her husband.
