Auggie (Jacob Tremblay) is a 10-year-old boy who looks like any other child of his age, except that he wears a huge space helmet. Under the helmet, Auggie's face is scarred by various surgeries. It not only perfectly hides Auggie's fragile and inferior heart, but also successfully prevents Auggie's appearance from scaring other children. Auggie has never been to school, and all his cultural knowledge is taught to him at home by his mother Isabel (Julia Roberts). However, Isabel gradually feels that the home classroom cannot meet Auggie's growth needs. In addition to learning knowledge, Auggie must also learn how to communicate with people other than his family. Amidst the worries, Isabel sent Auggie to a public school, where Auggie faced the challenges he must overcome in his life.
