Miramax and Broad Green Pictures have announced that they will be filming a sequel to the 2003 comedy Bad Santa, with the original star Billy Bob Thornton returning. Bad Santa tells the story of a thief who dresses up as Santa Claus in a shopping mall in order to steal. Unlike the Santa Claus we usually see, the Santa Claus portrayed by Billy Bob Thornton smokes, drinks, has a distorted outlook and is full of negative energy, but this character setting makes people feel very fresh. When the movie was released that year, it achieved box office success as a dark horse. Bad Santa 2 is scheduled to be released in the United States during the Christmas season of 2016, and the film will start shooting in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in January next year.
