Introduction

The new work "Highlander: The Search for Vengeance" by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, a Japanese animation director known for "Wicked City", "Ninja Scrolls" and "Vampire Hunter D", is finally going to be released to the audience after nearly two years of production. However, unlike the previously announced movie that was screened in theaters, this 80-minute animation will be released directly on DVD in the United States on June 5, divided into a regular version and a special edition. On March 14, the official website of the animation released a new 1.5-minute trailer, and from the gorgeous pictures, it still maintains Kawajiri's usual sharp style. The fifth film in the series, "Highlander: The Source", will also be released in North America by Lionsgate in September this year. The first animated version to be released in June is a new attempt by the producer of the "Highlander" series to join hands with the Japanese animation master. This animation is jointly produced by Japan's MADHOUSE Animation Company, which has a long-term cooperative relationship with Kawajiri Yoshiaki, and the American MANGA Company, which specializes in distributing Japanese animations, and Hong Kong's Imagination Animation Company (which also participated in the production of the upcoming 3D animation "Teenage Ninja Turtles"). Like "Vampire Hunter D", the English dubbing version will be released in the United States first, and the Japanese dubbing version will be released in Japan later, but it is not known whether it will be screened in Japan.
