Joe Alwyn and Leslie Odom Jr. will join the biographical film [Harriet]. Previously announced casts include Cynthia Erivo and Clark Peters. Directed by Seth Mann (Homeland). Harriet Tubman was born in 1822 and was originally a black slave living in Maryland. In 1849, she escaped to the North and soon joined the American "Underground Railroad" that helped slaves escape. She became one of the most active leaders and returned to her hometown many times to lead other slaves to escape to the North. After the outbreak of the Civil War, Tubman actively participated in the war and became one of the few women in the Northern Army. After the war, she devoted herself to the movement for women's rights. Harriet was also the first woman to appear on the US dollar. The film will start shooting in Virginia, USA next month.
