As an American student studying in Japan, Jiayun (Sarah Michelle Gellar) has been living a part-time and part-time life. This time, she accepted a job to take care of Emma (Grace Zabriskie), an old man suffering from catalepsy. Emma lives alone in a big house. The dilapidated and desolate here fully show that it and the old man have been forgotten by time. For Emma's weird behavior, Jiayun just thinks that there is something wrong with her nerves. As time goes by, Jiayun feels that there seems to be something extremely terrible hidden in the shadow of this house. There is a sound on the empty stairs, and a strange-looking boy flickers.
